Deep inky purple. Pepper and ripe berry aromas abound, followed by a lively, aromatic and vibrant palate, with a lush smooth finish that engulfs the senses.
Deep plum with a bright rim. The deep plum notes of ripe, primary shiraz fruit, opening to sweet, subdued florals and pepperberry. Broody, dark fruits and savoury flavour are encased in a rustic frame of gravelly, spicy tannin.
Deep black plum at the core with a pure, mulberry hued rim. Plums and blackberries at the fore with mulberry, five spice and pepper. The gentle influence of creamy, vanillin oak amplifies the deep, ripe berry fruit. A generous and fruit-forward palate, loaded with plums, cassis and milk chocolate. Rich fruits are laced with vanilla bean, cedar and graphite, finishing with fine, powdery tannins.
Brooding purple and black at the centre, the wine stays remarkably dark before hitting a clean scarlet edge. Layers of dark plum, mulberry and liquorice are seasoned with cedar, cinnamon, and toasted oak spice. Earthy, fruitful, and rich, the bouquet is generous and complex. While the vineyard fruit shows its own natural and highly individual shape, the palate remains completely serious in structure and style.
The dark, concentrated fruit rides a wave of grippy, rolling tannins, speaking of long warm days on deep sandy soils. From an elite vineyard block in the prime of its maturity, and the strong 2019 vintage, cellaring potential is a given. Drink in its youth from four years and through to 25 years of age.
Vibrant and textural palate. Ribbons of blue and red berry fruit are tied to deep plums and dark chocolate - lush velvety fruit tannins, framed and seasoned with fine grained French oak.
Bronze - 2016 Geelong Wine Show
