Trimbach Riesling Frédéric Emile (2017)

1.5L / Alsace / France

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: White Wine

Trimbach's Riesling Frédéric Emile 2017, in magnum, is the house's flagship dry Riesling, sourced from the Osterberg and Geisberg Grand Crus but bottled under its own historic name.

Lemon pith, white flowers and a distinct flinty, smoky minerality lead the nose, with the fruit sitting well back behind the wine's structure. The palate is bone dry, tightly wound and long, built on the kind of racy acidity that defines the very best Alsace Riesling.

This is a wine that rewards patience - youthful and reserved now, it's built to develop over many years.

Serve with choucroute garnie, roast veal, or a rich fish dish like turbot in beurre blanc. It also pairs beautifully with a mature Comté.

Still developing; from 2027 it will start to show its best, and in magnum it has the structure to hold well into the 2040s.
