William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir Domaine (2020)

750mL / Chablis / France

Category: Wine
Sub-Category: White Wine

Domaine William Fevre is known for producing excellent Chablis, and their Grand Cru Vaudésir Domaine is no exception. The 2020 vintage offers a pale yellow color with green reflections and a delicate nose with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits. On the palate, it is fresh and mineral with flavors of lemon and grapefruit, followed by a long and lively finish.

This Chablis is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes that are grown in the Grand Cru vineyard of Vaudésir, which is located on the right bank of the Serein River. The soil is composed of Kimmeridgian limestone, which is rich in marine fossils and minerals that impart a unique flavor profile to the wine.

The grapes are hand-harvested and then undergo a gentle pressing to extract the juice. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks using natural yeasts, and then aged in oak barrels for 12 months before being bottled. This aging process adds complexity and richness to the wine, while still allowing the minerality and freshness of the Chablis terroir to shine through.
