Peroni Gran Riserva Rossa is an Italian red lager with more depth than Peroni's standard lager, deeper amber in colour and sitting at 5.2% ABV, a step up in both strength and character from the brewery's everyday lager.

Expect more malt character here: a toasty, slightly caramelised sweetness backing up the colour, with moderate bitterness keeping it from tipping too sweet, a fuller body than a standard lager and a smooth, rounded finish that lingers a little longer.

Serve it cold but not ice-cold, in a tulip or lager glass if you have one. It holds its character a little longer than a pale lager but is still best enjoyed fresh rather than left to sit.
