Budvar, brewed in Czechia, is the original Czech Budweiser and one of the country's best-known pale lagers. It's the beer most Czechs will point to first when the name Budweiser comes up.

Floral, slightly spicy hop aroma meets a gentle honeyed malt backbone, with a clean, assertive bitterness running through the finish. The body is medium and the carbonation fine, giving the whole thing a dry finish that doesn't linger. It tastes noticeably more structured than most mainstream lagers at the same strength.

In a can, it's the easy option for the backyard or esky - pour it into a glass if you want the head, or drink it straight from the can on a hot day. Either way, drink it fresh.
