Liefmans Fruitesse is a Belgian fruit beer brewed in Belgium, a pink-red, berry-forward beer built on a Flanders-style soured base but kept light and low in alcohol at 3.8% ABV.

Raspberry and redcurrant dominate the aroma, with a bright, puckering tartness upfront that settles into a soft, juicy sweetness. Carbonation is high and the body light, so the sourness never feels heavy, and there's essentially no bitterness to speak of.

Serve it well chilled, ideally in a tulip or wine glass to show off the colour, and treat it as a warm-weather or aperitif beer rather than something to sip slowly by the fire. It's made to be drunk young and fresh, not kept.
