Leffe Brune is a Belgian abbey ale brewed in Belgium, the brown, dubbel-style counterpart to the more familiar Leffe Blonde and noticeably darker and maltier across the board.

Caramel and toffee sit over dried fruit - raisin, date, a touch of fig - with a gentle roasted edge and almost no hop bitterness to get in the way. Body is medium-full, carbonation soft, and the finish leans sweet rather than dry.

Best served cool rather than cold, in a chalice or tulip glass if you want the full abbey-ale presentation. It's happiest drunk within its first year rather than put away long-term.
