Paderborner Pilger is a German lager brewed Naturtrüb - unfiltered - at 5%, carrying a natural haze instead of the bright gold clarity you'd get from a filtered beer.

Leaving the yeast in gives it a softer, breadier malt character than a standard lager, with a gentle hop aroma sitting behind it rather than out front. Bitterness is restrained, the body a touch fuller than your average pils, and the finish is rounder rather than crisp, with a faint yeasty warmth running underneath the whole glass.

Serve it cold and give the can a swirl before pouring to bring the sediment through properly. Like most unfiltered lagers it's best drunk fresh rather than stored for later.
